DONUTS & DIAMONDS

Donuts & Diamonds is a third-person adventure game developed during my Animation & Game Design degree.
The project focuses on exploration, puzzle challenges, and collectible-driven progression in a stylised fantasy world.

LEVEL 1 WORKSHOP TUTORIAL

DESIGN INTENT

The level design guides players through a magical environment where donuts lead to hidden diamonds.
Each space introduces a new challenge that encourages exploration, observation, and problem solving.

PLAYER FLOW

Magical Woods (Exploration Hub)
Players follow collectible donuts that lead to portals unlocking challenge rooms.

Puzzle Rooms
Each room focuses on a different gameplay mechanic such as timing, navigation, or platforming.

CHALLENGE DESIGN

The game uses environmental puzzles instead of combat.

Examples include:

  • Arrow Alley – timing and reflex navigation

  • Maze of Echoes – spatial exploration puzzle

  • Flooded Room – moving platform challenge

  • Fiery Crossing – risk-based jumping puzzle

  • Room of Reunion – key search puzzle

Each challenge rewards the player with a diamond, progressing the story.
